| Conlin Associates was originally formed in 1982 to provide planning and consulting services to the U.S. Ski Industry. As Ski Areas expanded their role from winter sports areas to year round destination resorts, Conlin Associates expanded its expertise and scope of services to include consultation and planning in the areas of environmental planning and regulatory permitting, and the integration of year round recreation, transportation, water development, infrastructure and social policy planning into comprehensive master plans. Today, the firm is sought after for its broad experience base in environmental permitting, land use planning and partnership building, and its track record of completing difficult and complicated projects requiring the development of consensus between varied and diverse interests. Conlin Associates has been recognized for its consensus building skills and accomplishments in the areas of recreational development, transportation planning, trail and fisheries design, community visioning, historic preservation, conservation of open space, and grass roots partnership building. Recognition of the firm and its projects has included such prestigious awards as the Upper Arkansas Watershed Counsel's "Bob Appel - Friend of the Arkansas River Award", the "Governors Smart Growth and Development Award", the "Regional Foresters Honor Award" for partnership building, a "Special Recognition Award" for preservation of mining history from the 107th National Western Mining Conference, Colorado Mountain College's "Dean's Excellence in Education Award", the Friends of Colorado Mountain College Award, and the "Doer of the Deeds" Award presented jointly by the U.S. Department's of Agriculture and the Interior. |
